A couple a years ago I bought a Canon EOS 1D Mark II used on the internet. It’s a professional camera from a decade ago and don’t fetch much on the auction sites these days. Haven’t used it much since it’s a massive beast! Anyways, I got some vintage and retro lenses for it and decided to try it and them out at the botanic garden earlier this month.
The lenses used was a 85mm f/1.9 Super-Takumar, a 28mm f/2.8 DSB Yashica and a 14mm f/2.8 IF ED UMC Samyang. You get to match the lenses and pictures. The conclusion of the evaluation can be found at the bottom of the page.
I’m kinda pleased with the Taku and the Yashi, but the Samy went into the trash! The picture published here is kinda oki but it’s a closeup and not representative. In files portraying subjects at a normal distance it shows severe decentralization of it’s elements. That has accelerated over the two years that I’ve owned and used it. I can provide files that supports it if any vested party is interested… Use the contact form! I did dissect it and got two good loupes from the remains. The rest of it went, as said into the trash…
